Well, a little belatedly, but Shavua Tov to you all!
Why am I here, you might ask? Well, here is the answer. This year, I have done many things. Some of them on my own, some of them with my long suffering love of my life and the remainder with many other people.
But, I expect the most momentous of them will be to start on the road to converting to Judaism. It’s right up there, really. A true change of direction. Or actually, more correctly, confirmation of the direction I’ve been meandering in for much of my life. At some point soon, I’ll write more about that particular journey. I don’t want to frighten anybody off with my thoughts so early on!
There is SO MUCH to learn. And consequently, so much to write about. Suffice to say, I’ve met with my rabbi, been to my first Shabbat service (wonderful) and this weekend will be attending my first Tishah B’Av service too. Learning Hebrew is taking up my train journeys to work and I have made my first steps to celebrating Erev Shabbat at home. Busy is not the word.
I’ll be back!
